Knowledge and practical tips

Page dimensions, rotation and display zoom

PDF pages have their own coordinates and crop bounds. Display zoom does not alter the source. Browse, rotate and zoom each page; check export settings and the target application for output dimensions.

Scans differ from extractable text

A scanned PDF may contain only page images. Visible lettering does not imply text objects. Text extraction works on pages with text layers; image-only scans need OCR, which this tool does not provide.

Open locally and browse page by page

Files are parsed locally and pages are rendered as needed. Password-protected documents require a known password. For damaged files, old browsers or complex fonts, compare the original document with the displayed result.

How it works

  1. Select a local PDF and wait for the page to render.
  2. Browse pages or enter a page number, then zoom or rotate.
  3. Inspect the content or save the current page as PNG.

Common questions

Will my PDF be uploaded?

No. The PDF is parsed and rendered locally; the tool does not retain a copy after you close or replace it.

Can I open a password-protected PDF?

Enter the known document password to open it. The tool does not crack passwords or alter the original PDF.

Does zooming or rotating change the PDF?

No. These settings affect the preview and page-image exports, not the original PDF.

Why can visible words yield no extracted text?

The page may be scanned, contain outlined lettering or use unusual encoding. Extraction does not include OCR; use the source document or an OCR-capable application.

Will PDF links or scripts run automatically?

The tool renders pages without automatically running PDF scripts or opening links. Interactive forms, signature validation and attachment management are not provided.

Can I convert an opened PDF to images?

Yes. PDF to PNG carries the current file, page and rotation into the next tool without selecting the file again. Each export saves the selected page.
