Common questions
Do I need membership to edit an SVG?
No. This tool edits existing local SVG files for free. Use the image-to-vector service to trace PNG or JPG bitmaps into paths.
Can I edit original text and arbitrary nodes?
The tool supports selection, recoloring, erasing and cleanup, not full typography or Bézier node editing. Outlined lettering cannot be edited as original font text.
How do I edit one region without affecting every matching color?
Select or marquee the target paths first. Color-panel removal affects all matching regions. Local editability of compound paths depends on the document structure.
Why can I not type into outlined SVG lettering?
Text converted to paths is graphic outlines, not an editable font object. This is not a full typography application; accurate text changes need the source font, design file or rebuilt layout.
Can I undo erasing?
Undo and redo are available within the current session, subject to history limits. They do not persist after closing the page. Export staged SVG backups for important changes.
Why are AI background removal and source comparison absent?
Those features require a conversion task or source image and cannot operate on an arbitrary local SVG. The standalone tool shows local selection, recoloring, erasing, path inspection and export instead.
