Download SVG or PDF? How to choose the conversion result format
Prioritize saving SVG when you need to continue editing the path or use it on a web page; select PDF when the recipient clearly needs PDF, and confirm the path, size and color in the target software. Changing the container format does not complete prepress processing.
Determine the problem and applicable conditions first
Available formats are available in the Studio's Download Vector menu. SVG is suitable for retaining the original converted content; PDF is often used for exchange or viewing, but whether it meets the production equipment requirements should be confirmed by the recipient, and you cannot just check the file suffix.
Process and check in order
- First save a copy of the original SVG as a master for subsequent editing.
- Select the download format as required by the recipient and check whether the download is completed.
- Reopen the file and compare body, cutout, transparency and page range.
Check the finished result
What is downloaded from the task page is the original conversion result. If the color has been deleted or erased in the editor, the edited version should be exported from the editor to avoid mistaking the unmodified file for final delivery. PDFs are also not a substitute for supplier confirmed color and size parameters.
SVG format basis and reference materials
SVG can contain both vector shapes, images, and text. Therefore, a file name ending in .svg does not alone prove that the original image has been converted to an editable path.W3C SVG 2 Specification: SVG Graphics Objectdescribes these object types.
