What does the vector file delivery package contain? Masters, Previews and Descriptions

Written and maintained by:Sweet Tomato E-commerce Technology Co., Ltd. Updated

It is recommended to include a final vector draft, an easy-to-see preview, and a brief delivery note. Be clear about the final version, size, color, font handling and dependent resources to avoid the recipient guessing which file can be produced.

Determine the problem and applicable conditions first

It is easy to get the wrong version if you mix the original conversion, clean version and old version in one directory. If the SVG has embedded bitmaps or externally linked fonts, this should also be noted; separate the preview PNG from the production file to prevent the wrong object from being used during printing or processing.

Process and check in order

  1. Organize original masters, final deliverables and reference previews.
  2. Describe the actual size, usage scenarios, version and matters yet to be confirmed.
  3. Let the recipient open the file to confirm the content, and then save the confirmation record.

Check the finished result

Do not name unapproved proofs as final. When archiving, save the source and authorization credentials together, and distinguish between redistributable materials and resources that are only allowed to be used within the project to prevent the delivery package from containing files that are not authorized to be shared.

SVG format basis and reference materials

SVG can contain both vector shapes, images, and text. Therefore, a file name ending in .svg does not alone prove that the original image has been converted to an editable path.W3C SVG 2 Specification: SVG Graphics Objectdescribes these object types.
