Copy the unit into multiple rows and columns, and check whether the left and right, upper and lower boundaries are continuous. If a single pattern looks good inside, it doesn’t mean it can be repeated seamlessly. The cropping border and the position of the border elements need to be matched.
Determine the problem and applicable conditions first
Vectorization may change the shape of edge elements or leave tiny white spaces, and gaps may appear in originally continuous patterns. The inspection should be based on the actual repeat arrangement, not just one unit thumbnail; rotation or mirroring will also change the pairing relationship. For example, the line width and landing point of continuous branches on the left and right should be checked at the same time.
Process and check in order
- Clarify the repeating unit size and repeating method.
- Arrange at least multiple units and check with magnification at the seams and corners.
- Revalidate the entire duplicate after the copy corrects the boundary elements.
Check the finished result
Don’t hide the break in the subject by adding a background color block. The unit size and arrangement will be indicated upon delivery. If garment printing is required, the fabric, scaling and layout requirements must still be confirmed with the manufacturer.
