SVG edges are cropped after import: canvas and stroke range check
Check the viewBox, artboard bounds, clipping paths, and strokes beyond bounds. Just because the outline itself is within the canvas, it does not mean that all line widths drawn along the outside of the outline are also within the canvas.
Determine the problem and applicable conditions first
Circles, sharp corners, and shadows that are close to the boundary are easily truncated during import or export. Some software crops according to the page, while others export according to the graphic boundary, causing preview differences; don't just look at whether the center of the subject is correct.
Process and check in order
- Compare the original image to highlight the four sides that have been cut and the protruding parts.
- Expand the artboard or reposition objects appropriately in the copy.
- Check the cropping path and shadow range, then export and re-import.
Check the finished result
If the document requires strict final outline dimensions, additional white space should be recorded rather than haphazardly enlarging the page. Cutting and printing delivery must also clearly define the actual boundaries of the finished product, and the anti-cut margin cannot be used as a bleed parameter. For example, the graphic range of the sticker and the die range should be checked separately and cannot be solved by just enlarging the page.
SVG format basis and reference materials
SVG can contain both vector shapes, images, and text. Therefore, a file name ending in .svg does not alone prove that the original image has been converted to an editable path.W3C SVG 2 Specification: SVG Graphics Objectdescribes these object types.
