The exported SVG is still the same as before: file and version troubleshooting
First make sure that you are opening the file just exported from the editor, and not the original download of the task or an old copy with the same name. The browser download directory may automatically add a serial number, and the same file name can easily cause version confusion.
Determine the problem and applicable conditions first
Some design software will keep the previously opened content, and the web page tab may still display the old file. When the modification is visible in the canvas but the file remains unchanged, check the save entry and path first, and do not re-convert the original image immediately.
Process and check in order
- Give the edited version a new name, such as pattern name-edited-v2.svg.
- Export from the editor and view the modification time and file size on disk.
- Close the old preview, open the new file directly and check the specific modification location.
Check the finished result
If there are still differences, compare the target color and object before and after exporting, record the reproducible steps and then provide feedback. Only saving the screenshot cannot preserve the path; both the original version and the edited version should be preserved to avoid being unable to roll back after accidental overwriting.
SVG format basis and reference materials
SVG can contain both vector shapes, images, and text. Therefore, a file name ending in .svg does not alone prove that the original image has been converted to an editable path.W3C SVG 2 Specification: SVG Graphics Objectdescribes these object types.
