Light edges appear in SVG on dark background: How to locate the source of the problem
First compare the original image to see if it already has light edges, and then check whether the SVG contains light fragments distributed along the outline. Hidden light edges on a white background may be noticeable on dark clothing, posters, or web page backgrounds.
Determine the problem and applicable conditions first
Translucent edges, cutout contamination, and lossy compression can all cause glossy fringing. Tracing sometimes turns it into an independent color block; the original highlights and white strokes of the main body may also be normal designs and cannot all be classified as noise.
Process and check in order
- Compare the same edge of the original image and the result on a black and white background.
- Highlight the light color in the color list and observe whether it is accompanied by the main highlight.
- Edit the copy when it can be cleaned independently, and return to the original image for trimming when it cannot be separated.
Check the finished result
Check again for fine print, whites of eyes, and clear holes after cleaning. If the light edge comes from the original image, repeated conversion will usually not disappear automatically; it is more effective to accept the final background color than just enlarging on a white canvas.
SVG format basis and reference materials
SVG can contain both vector shapes, images, and text. Therefore, a file name ending in .svg does not alone prove that the original image has been converted to an editable path.W3C SVG 2 Specification: SVG Graphics Objectdescribes these object types.
