Picture cannot be read: troubleshooting order for damaged files and fake pictures
If it cannot be read, open the original image locally first, and then check whether a web page, empty file or incomplete image has been downloaded. If the original image is normal, try re-exporting it to a standard static PNG in the image software before uploading it.
Determine the problem and applicable conditions first
The download button of some websites returns to the login page or error page, but the file name still has an image suffix. The unusually small size, the text displayed after the browser is opened, and the lower half of the image are missing all indicate that the original file should be retrieved. Do not submit the same corrupted file consecutively.
Process and check in order
- Check whether the file is zero bytes and check whether the download is completed.
- Open in local imaging software to check the complete picture.
- Re-export the copy. If it still fails, record the page error message and contact customer service.
Check the finished result
When reporting a problem, just provide the file type, pixel size, failure time and error text; do not send your account password. If the pictures involve privacy or undisclosed customer information, obtain the appropriate authorization before deciding whether to provide samples.
SVG format basis and reference materials
SVG can contain both vector shapes, images, and text. Therefore, a file name ending in .svg does not alone prove that the original image has been converted to an editable path.W3C SVG 2 Specification: SVG Graphics Objectdescribes these object types.
