The colors are messed up after multiple SVGs are placed on the same page: check for duplicate IDs
When inlining multiple SVGs, gradient, mask, or crop references may have duplicate IDs, causing the graphic to point to a different definition. First look at the url(#...) reference and the corresponding ID, and use a consistent and independent prefix for each instance.
Determine the problem and applicable conditions first
Two SVGs that are displayed normally in their respective files will share the document ID space after being copied into the same DOM. Just changing the definition name without changing the reference will also cause the effect to be lost. Style selector conflicts also need to be checked simultaneously.
Process and check in order
- Compare defs, clipPath, mask and gradient of the offending instance.
- Renames the ID in the replica, updating all references.
- Repeatedly render multiple components to test color, cropping, and themes.
Check the finished result
Loading the img separately usually reduces such internal ID conflicts. Do not delete defs directly to avoid duplication, as the effect of relying on it will be invalid; during automatic optimization, you should enable an identification strategy that is adapted to the component instance.
SVG format basis and reference materials
SVG can contain both vector shapes, images, and text. Therefore, a file name ending in .svg does not alone prove that the original image has been converted to an editable path.W3C SVG 2 Specification: SVG Graphics Objectdescribes these object types.
